Journal prompts for empaths

It’s a really busy, noisy world out there lately…and even more so if you’re an empath or highly sensitive person (HSP).

Personally, I have been struggling immensely. At times, I wonder if it’s my age, (going on 50 at the end of this year), or simply because I am an extreme empath, (also classified as a highly sensitive individual). Take my simple, unscientific quiz to see if you are one too, lol.

There is a part of me, (and perhaps you feel this way as well), that LOVES the convenience of being online for business, sharing and learning…but also get caught up in scrolling and going down “rabbit holes” online and before you know it, our blood pressure is up and we’re anxious and depressed by thinking we’re failing in life because we start comparing ourselves. Or the energy online is simply too much, (the negativity etc).

Seriously, why do we do this to ourselves?

And how do we take care of ourselves when there is so much going on around us?

Start by replacing our time online with something that is a powerful mental health tool for highly sensitive people:

➡️ Journaling ⬅️

10 signs you may be a highly sensitive person or an empath. Writing therapy. Mental wellness tools. Journal prompts for empaths.

Journaling can provide a safe, non-judgmental and private space for HSP’s and empaths to express our emotions and feelings without being influenced by external factors.

What’s the best way to get started?

To maintain a consistent practice, try and keep things simple.

I write in the mornings because it’s quiet and most of my family is still in bed. In my notebook, I write my 3 items of gratitude and then a bit of a brain dump and then a bullet list of things “to do” for the day. When I really need to quiet my mind, I set a timer later in the day (10 minutes) and type in a Google doc I have for “brain dumping”. 10 minutes of simply getting words out onto a page. This almost feels as good as getting out for a good walk with my pups.

If you need ideas as to what type of journaling would be the best for you, READ this blog, (I found it helpful). ♥

You can always get started with journal prompts (one of my favourites too).

Here are a few for you, (specifically for empaths/HSP’s):
