
Frankincense. There’s so much to learn about “The King of Oils”.
Ok…let’s talk about one of the most beautiful, versatile, safe and effective oils on the planet…
Frankincense.
Renowned as one of the most prized and precious essential oils, Frankincense has extraordinary health benefits.
As the king of oils, Frankincense is known to support healthy cellular, immune, nervous, and digestive function when used internally.
The plant essence in a doTERRA, (the frank I always purchase), bottle actually has 4 species of Boswellia. The resin is from Boswellia carterii, sacra, papyrifera, and frereana and is sourced in a very ethical, sustainable way:) It’s completely pure and powerful and is such a beautiful oil.
Any Frankincense, from any company is wonderful, but typically they contain one species with specific therapeutic properties. When you have a few species blended, you will receive a more versatile oil.

A few basic suggestions:
For general pain support, add a couple drops to a carrier oil like coconut oil and rub on area of discomfort
Apply topically to help reduce the appearance of skin imperfections, (add 1 drop to your favourite lotion)
Massage on the bottoms of feet, (wonderful to do just before bedtime)
Take one to two drops in a veggie capsule to support healthy cellular function, (Frank is one of the very few oils that I recommend internally)
Inhale (from the bottle) and breathe if feeling anxious or stressed
Blend with lavender in a carrier oil (like grapeseed or coconut oil) and enjoy in a full body massage
Diffuse 6 drops in a diffuser (feel free to blend with wild orange or lavender) at bedtime or even throughout the day in the main area of your home
For specific pain support, when you need some right away, add one drop to your thumb and press to the roof of your mouth, (I do this when I feel a bad headache coming on, along with my regular pain medication)
Blend your Frankincense with lavender and a citrus oil, in a rollerball with a carrier oil and roll on the back of the neck, shoulders and temples as needed, (essential oils in a carrier oil are a really healthy way to replace synthetic scents)
Add to a carrier like jojoba and apply to skin to protect and reduce inflammation, (acne, cold sores, cysts, cuts, scrapes)
For respiratory support, add a few drops to coconut oil and apply to chest, (when you feel like you have a cold or cough coming on)
Frankincense is wonderful at helping destroy infection-causing bacteria, apply it to wounds and ulcers
Frankincense contracts and tones tissues, therefore it is a gentle “balancer” for oily skin, helps to regenerate aging skin, keeps wrinkles at bay and may even help with existing ones
